Satish Chapagain has called Baltimore County home for over two decades. A small-business supporter, community organizer, and dedicated public servant, Satish has spent his life building bridges between people of every background. He has volunteered with local schools, faith communities, and neighborhood associations across District 7A, earning a reputation as someone who shows up, listens, and gets things done. Satish and his family live in the heart of the district, where they are active members of the community.

In His Own Words

Why I'm Running

"I'm running because I believe public service should be about people, not politics. Every day I meet neighbors who work hard but feel like Annapolis has forgotten them — parents worried about school funding, seniors stretching fixed incomes, and small-business owners buried in red tape. I've spent my life helping my community, and I know we can do better. As your Delegate, I'll bring our voices to the table, fight for the resources our district deserves, and never stop putting People First and Community Always."

A Record of Service

From Our Neighborhoods,
For Our Neighborhoods

2008

A New Beginning in Baltimore County

Satish arrived in Baltimore County with big dreams, a strong work ethic, and a family counting on him. He took his first job at Subway, then drove for Uber and worked in local hotels, often juggling long shifts to keep food on the table and a roof over his family's heads. Even on the hardest days, he made time to volunteer with his community. He learned early that no one gets ahead alone, and that a helping hand can change a life.

2011

Investing in Himself

Hungry to learn and grow, Satish enrolled at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). Between work and family, he studied late into the night, believing education was the key to opening doors for himself and for others.

2012

A Voice for Families in Our Schools

Satish joined Baltimore County Public Schools as an interpreter. He sat beside parents at school meetings, helped students feel understood, and built bridges between families and teachers. In those classrooms and conference rooms, he saw firsthand how much every family wants the best for their children, and how much it matters when someone listens.

2014

Standing Together in Hard Times

When neighbors were struggling, Satish stepped up. He helped organize community relief efforts and mutual-aid networks, bringing people together to share food, resources, and hope. It was a lesson he never forgot: when we take care of each other, our community grows stronger.

2015

Trusted to Lead

His neighbors noticed. Satish was elected vice president of a local community organization, where he worked to give people a stronger voice and turn shared concerns into real action.

2021

Building a Dream from the Ground Up

With his savings and a loan, and a lot of courage, Satish opened his own small business. He knows the risks, the long hours, and the pride behind every open sign, and he knows how hard it is for small businesses to make it today.

2022

Answering the Call to Serve

Satish filed for the Maryland Democratic Party Central Committee and won. He spent the next four years listening to residents, representing their concerns, and showing up for the people he served.

2026

People First. Community Always.

Satish announced his candidacy for Maryland State Delegate in District 7A, and voters sent him forward from the Democratic primary. His journey has come full circle: the man who once worked long shifts to support his family now wants to fight for every family working just as hard. He's running to make life more affordable, keep neighborhoods safe, support small businesses, and build better healthcare and schools.

Satish's story is our community's story. It is built on hard work, family, and the belief that when we put people first, everyone has a chance to thrive.
